stability of a rectangular pontoon

Experiment :       Stability of a rectangular pontoon.

Aim              :  1. To compare the theoretical  and experimental values of the metacentric height.

                         2. To verify that the position of the metacentre is independent of the position of
                              the centre of gravity.

                          For a rectangular pontoon floating in water.

Apparatus    :      Rectangular pontoon with a horizontally adjustable weight ( jockey weight ) ,
                             vertically adjustable weight, plumb bob and an angular scale

                              Scale , Knife edge , Water tank

Theory          :       Consider a rectangular pontoon of length i, width b , weight W , with a jockey
                               weight w1 and a vertically adjustable weight w2 floting in water.

Marcet`s Boiler

Experiment : Marcet`s Boiler

Aim                     : To show the relation between the pressure and temperature of
                                    satuated   steam

Theory            : At a given pressure, the  temperature at which a pure substance
                                  changes its phase is called saturation temperature . Analogusly at
                                  pure substance change its phase is called the saturation
                                  pressure.

How to learn to learn

Many student have very big problem that when they have to face some exam they will get a tension for for exam.Why we  get a extra tension to exam.

  1. If we haven`t study enough we can get a tension to exam.
  2. If we study well , but we can`t realize again and agian
  3. Other thing is student have to get their parents` or some person`s purposes
If we are not going to study well we can`t face to exam well.So we have to study well.If we can`t understand theory well we can ask it from friend or teacher again and again.If we do some thing again and again we can tough that work well.Think about this.When we are practice to drive a motor cycle we can`t drive it in first time.There is a rhythm in all things.If we can tough this rhythm we said that i learned.So we must learn to catch this  rhythm.Also maths,science have a rhythm.If some one catch this rhythm he/she will learn well.I`ll explain what is this rhythm.

Friction loss along a pipe

Experiment : friction loss along a pipe

Aim                    : 1. To verify darcy`s law frictional flow through pipes.
                                   2.To determine the friction factor for a fully developed
                                    turbulent  flow

Apparatus   : 1.pipe friction apparatus         2. Bucket
                                    3.Measuring cylinder               4.Spirit level
                                    5.Stop watch                              6.Ruler

Theory        : Darcy`s low for frictional head for   turbulent  flow  given
                                              Hf = (λL /2gD )n
                                             Hf  = fricion head loss
                                             λ    = Friction factor
                                            L    = length of pipe
                                            v    = Velocity
